I’m proud to announce that last week myself, Jason and Rebecca went to the ceremony evening for Visit Britain’s Beautiful South Awards for Excellence. We made the final cut and were pitted against some of the largest and best tourism attractions, accommodation providers and cultural experiences in the Southeast of England.
We don’t blow our own trumpet to much at the yummy Pub Co but making it this far alone was a massively proud moment for us. We were the only pub in the finals and wanted to represent the Great british Pub in true style! We were nominated in the category for flavour of the south and after much anticipation picked up the silver medal pipping the Shepherd Neame Brewery Visitor centre to the medals and only narrowly missing out to the Aviator Hotel that also picked up best large accommodation provider in the South.
We ourselves didn’t realise the scale of the awards and were so happy to see our business in the mix on the evening with Royal Ascot, Lingfield Park Racecourse. Gatwick Airport and many more large tourist attractions. The Judges decided we were worthy of the medal after mystery shopper visits, interviews and in-depth business analysis forms. We were cited to have great training opportunities for our team, a happy workplace and a true reflection of proper English culture with good food values.
It’s great when our team gets this recognition and Rebecca was chuffed to go up and receive the award along with fellow founder Jason Rowlands. What’s brilliant now is that we go through to the national awards. We’ve already picked up some great recognition and working with Visit Britain also helps to get our venues out on an international platform.
Fingers crossed for the nationals!
